Garstka, Sylvester R. "Syl", age 83 on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 of Mt. Oliver. Son of the late Sylvester L. and Helen Audrey (Gajewski) Garstka; brother of Mary Ann (Charles) Seidel, Carol (Ron) Shell and the late Alberta (Stanley) Golen. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Sylvester was a Eucharistic Minister at St. John Vianney, worked for the Post Office for over 60 years, and was a Korean War Veteran. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Friday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Funeral prayer on Saturday morning at 11:00. Mass of Christian Burial in St. John Vianney Church at 12:00 noon.
