March 13, 1925 - February 23, 2018

Harnack, Thelma Marie (Imbusch) Age 92, of Pleasant Hills, PA and most recently Country Meadows Retirement Community in Bridgeville, PA, on Friday, February 23, 2018.

Born in Wilkinsburg, PA on March 13, 1925 to the late Fred W.H. and Ruth (Otte) Imbusch. Beloved wife of the late Theodore F. Harnack, Jr. who passed away September 22, 1973. Loving mother of Anne of Baldwin, PA, Fred (the late Amy) of Bethel Park, PA, Janice (Robert) Skok of Valparaiso, IN and Joyce (Robert) Snyder of Hummelstown, PA; proud grandmother of Christina, Andrew and Daniel Snyder, Nicholas and Christopher Skok and Jamie and Jason Harnack; sister of the late Eleanor Gordon and Virginia Chester; dear aunt of Steve Chester, Judy Gilmore and Wendy Hodge. Thelma was a graduate of The Carnegie Institute of Technology. She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church for over 63 years and had been active in their choir, volunteer work and preschool, which she had ultimately served as the director. Thelma liked to garden, sew, cook and especially spend time with her family and grandchildren. Thelma loved God and embodied the fruit of the Holy Spirit, which includes love, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. (Galatians 5:22). Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Friday, March 2 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning in Prince of Peace Lutheran Church at 10:00, with the Reverend Allyn K. Itterly officiating. Everyone, please meet at church. Interment to follow in Mount Royal Cemetery. If desired, family suggests contributions in her name to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 400 Old Clairton Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236. The family would also like to commend and thank Country Meadows Retirement Community and their dedicated staff for the excellent care and treatment that she received over the last four years.
