Obituary For Thomas A. LaPlace, Jr.

Age 90, on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 of Whitehall.

Beloved husband of 68 years to Janet (Lodie); father of Gary (Kathy), Steve (Donna), Shara (Tom) Bennett, Dan (Bonnie) and the late Thomas, III, Richard (survived by Nancy) and Randal; proud Pap Pap of Cheri, Candice (Ricky), Carly (Devon), Janna (John), Alicia (Ed), Lea (Erik), T.C., Dan (Hannah), C.J. (Nikki), Matthew, Nicholas, Gabby and Will. Also survived by 16 great-grandchildren, his sisters Marie (Dick) Heisler, Joan (the late Chuck) Eisenbarth, Margaret LaPlace and many nieces, nephews and their families. Tom was retired from Prudential Insurance. He was an avid golfer and was a 56 year member of the St. Sylvester Bowling League. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Friday, September 25, 2020 from 2-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday in Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Sylvester Church at 10:30 a.m. Everyone please meet at church. Due to the current public health crisis, masks and social distancing guidelines must be adhered to.     I always enjoyed visiting Mr. LaPlace with his son Dan, my college roommate and friend. I know Tom was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. I can't recall a time when I saw him when he wasn't smiling or joking around. That is how I will remember him. Rest In Peace Tom. God bless you.
