Obituary For Thomas E. Kissel

July 6, 1929 - October 9, 2016

Kissel, Thomas E. Age 87, peacefully on Sunday, October 9, 2016, of Brentwood, formerly of South Side.

Beloved husband of the late Dolores J. (Slinskey) Kissel; loving father of Kevin (Donna) Kissel and Kim A. (Jack) Hatheway; cherished pappap of Shannon and Megan Kissel and Brian (Sharon), Ian and Lauren Hatheway; brother of Noreen Crummie, Nancy McAllister and the late James, Robert, William and Gerald Kissel; also survived by several nieces and nephews and dear friend Patricia Matthews. Tom served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, was a member of Teamster #249, and a former Gin Rummy champion at South Hills Country Club. Tom will be deeply missed for his generosity and his happy hour spirit. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Thursday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Sylvester Church at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to Brentwood Spartan Football Program.
