Obituary For Thomas H. Giles

Age 70, of Brookline, on Wednesday, January 31, 2024.

Beloved father of Tara (Marc) Sill; loving Pappy of Ryan and Adam Sill; son of the late Henry J. and Anna (Schneider) Giles; brother of Toni (Bill) Hogel, Mark, Mary (Bob) Trageser, Hank, Dan (Mary), Tim (Robin), Dave (Wendy), Brian (Ovie) and the late Liz (Denny) Dally and Robert Giles. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Sunday, February 4, 2024 from 6-8 p.m. and Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Tuesday morning at 9:45 followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Sylvester Church.

    I grew up across the street from the Giles on Suncrest Street & went to school with him at St Canice/Hilltop Catholic. Tom was always good for a joke or to light up your smoke! He was a kind & gentle soul who will be missed by those who knew & loved him. May his memory continue to be a blessing! Rest in peace dear neighbor...

    My brother was one of the most selfless people I know.In my life time,I could not even begin to tell you how many times that he took time out of his life to help me. I could not ever repay him for his time he gave me.I will always remember the times that he took me fishing just to get away from it all. All he ever asked for was a cold beer and good conversation. I was always happy to give him that.I will miss him and his smile deeply,but will always charish the times we had together.Rest in peace my brother.
