Age 78, of Brentwood, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 25, 2023; born on February 1, 1945. Son of the late Thomas J. Forkin, Sr. and Helen Wozniak Forkin; husband of Jacqueline A. Bettilyon Forkin; father of Gregory (Kellie) Forkin, Renee (T. Cormac) McCarthy and Rhonda (Mark) Martini; grandfather of Collin McCarthy, Ryan Forkin, Kayla McCarthy, Winston Martini, Matthew Forkin and Marina Martini; brother of James (Mary Ann) Forkin. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Skip was an oldies 50's record and music lover. He enjoyed the Steelers, Penguins and Pirates and loved feeding the squirrels and birds on the deck. Skip was a big rig truck driver prior to his retirement. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam war era and was a 1962 graduate of St. Basil High School. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the John F. Slater Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park with full military honors.
