Obituary For Timothy J. "Ted" McCarthy

Age 91, on Monday, December 19, 2022, of Baldwin.

Beloved husband of Mary M. "Peggy" (Carey); father of Mary Patricia (James) Bernauer and Timothy Sean (Maureen) McCarthy; grandfather of Patrick J. Bernauer and Timothy M., Margaret K. and Sean T. McCarthy; son of the late Timothy and Catherine "Rena" McCarthy; brother of the late Fr. Thomas McCarthy, Rita (Charles) Strauss, Eileen (Charles "Bud") Erny, Margaret (Paul) Leslie and Michael (Patricia) Beczak. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Ted proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a member of VFW Post #1810. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Thursday, December 22, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Friday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church at 10:00 a.m.

    We just found out about Mr. McCarthy's passing. Please know that the staff of the Whitehall Public Library was very fond of him. He was a frequent library patron and always good-humored and kind. You have our collective sympathy. Paula Kelly, Library Director
