Obituary For Toni Marie (Pelino) Weber

Weber, Toni Marie (Pelino)

Toni passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021, after an all too brief battle with aggressive pancreatic cancer.

The third of five children, Toni was a raven-haired beauty with a love of life and a magnetic smile that drew people to her. She had a tumultuous early life, but found her true love at 35 when she met her beloved Art, at a Boy Scout function. Together they spent 24 glorious years traveling the country and setting sail on their favorite cruise line before Art's passing in 2013.

In the wake of his death, Toni desired to make her home a happy place for gatherings, friendships, and laughter. To know her was to love her. Her warmth, wit, welcoming nature, kindness, and joyful verve of life enabled her to become the center cog of so many groups of friends. She wrote three books, painted, crafted, cooked, and even started a neighborhood discussion group, The Kids' Table, with her single friends to hash out current issues, in a civil setting, and share a meal together.

Her life was taken too soon, but she left us with a how-to primer on leading a life well lived. And in the end, she was showered with the love of her family and friends as she crossed over to be with those she loved. She was an elegant, dignified, sparkling gem of a soul, who will be deeply missed by all who had the great fortune to know her.

Toni is survived by her son, Will (Ruth) Joback, her siblings; Laura (David) Nial, Vicki (Tony) Caldart, Anthony "Buddy" (Leslie) Pelino and Marie (George) Popichak, nieces and nephews; Zach (Kelly) Nial, Regi (Nik) Caldart, Jaimie Pelino, Mike Pelino, and Jon Caldart. Toni is preceded in death by Art Weber (husband), Anthony V. Pelino (father) and Mary B. Pelino (mother). We extend our deepest gratitude to her two great friends, Jamie Ingebritson and Bobbi Donovan, for their love, care, and dedication during Toni's final months.

There will be a memorial gathering at John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 4201 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15227, on Saturday, May 15, 2021 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Friends and family are welcome to come celebrate Toni's life. We ask visitors to wear bright colors to match her sparkle. Masks and social distancing guidelines must be adhered to. If desired, the family suggests contributions to UPMC Family Hospice www.familyhospicepa.org.

Dear Will and Family, Toni was an extraordinary individual who positively touched the hearts of many. Having first met her at the Brentwood Library we immediately connected. Her magnetic vivacious smile and warmth of her personality exuded sunshine and a genuine love of life and others. She was open to sharing her many gifts, life experiences, and values. It's a great loss to us here on this earth while she's now enjoying her heavenly life. May you find comfort during this difficult time by recalling and embracing how her unique qualities and love for you have impacted your life. With deepest sympathy. -Patty P.
