I am Val's sister, June. I want to thank everyone for the very kind words shared. You have warmed my parents' hearts immensely, along with my siblings' hearts. Valerie's death has left a huge hole in our lives. My brother has continued nurturing her garden, so Valerie continues to give us our daily veggies. Her love lives on and keeps giving.

We were stunned to hear of Val's passing. We live next door to Val and saw her often in her garden. We'll miss talking with her when we were out in our backyard. It definitely will not be the same without her. She was the sweetest to our children, Amanda and Damien. She would always bring them gifts over for Christmas and Easter. Our kids loved her. We'll miss you Val. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family. Rest in peace, Val. With our deepest sympathy, The Mittelberg Family

Val has been a kind and generous neighbor of mine for the last five years. Her beautiful spirit and kindness has constantly brightened our backyards - much like her well tended garden. Our little corner of Brentwood is less bright without Val. My prayers are with her family.

We are so deeply saddened to hear the news of Val's passing. She was an amazing woman and neighbor. Our children, Avery and Chase, absolutely adored her and waited for her daily to come outside to work in the garden. They are going to miss helping her and seeing all of the amazing things that she was growing. May she rest in peace. Your neighbors, The Kurhan family

My deepest sympathy to Val's family. I knew Val through Michelle Fortunato. She was one of the nicest people I have ever met. May her soul rest in peace.

Thank you for being my friend Valerie. You and your family were always so nice to me. We used to walk to Moore school together most days. I will miss you. God will take care of you. Susan Fleming
