Hahn, Virginia Madeline

Age 96, of Elkridge, MD, formerly of Finleyville, PA, on Monday, June 16, 2014.

Virginia was born on August 1, 1917 in Carrick, PA. In her youth, she worked for Bell Telephone as a switchboard operator in Pittsburgh, PA, prior to her marriage to Adam H. Hahn (deceased 1989) in 1950. She is survived by two daughters, Gail H. (David R.) Sanders of Elkridge, MD and Shirley H. (Lawrence W.) Bergman of Lansdale, PA; grandmother of Jeremy A. (Jennifer) Bergman, Neale H. (Ligia Paina) Bergman, Madeline V. Bergman and Oliver M. Sanders; great-grandmother of Lucy V. Bergman and Rory W.E. Bergman; sister of William Recker, Eileen Staley, Charlotte Knight, Celine Dowling and the late Muriel Strauss and Peter Recker. Relatives and friends can be received at John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc, 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, PA 15227 on Thursday from 2-8 p.m. and Friday from 9 until 10:30 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 11:00 AM in St. Isaac Jogues, 1216 Collins Avenue, Elrama, PA 15038, followed by burial at the Jefferson Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Catholic Charities, the Diocese of Pittsburgh, 412-456-6969.
