I had the occasion to play golf with Doug & Walt way back in the 90's on a golf trip to Myrtle & a few times after, before my family moved to the Charlotte area. He was such a passionate individual, as well as a great sense of humor. Karen, please accept our condolences. The Girdis Family.

Dear Karen, Doug, Dixie & Grayson, It's rare to find a woman with such a generous and loving heart like your daughter Karen. She was lovingly and appreciatively by your side thru it all. And wouldn't have it any other way. Karen, you are a loving testament to the what a great Father your Dad is. I'm relieved to know you are surrounded by a very supportive group of friends and I will do my best to support you as well. May your Dad be at peace in heaven now and always watching over you. You and yours are always in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Carrie, Sophie and Kallie
