Obituary For Wayne D. Cuddy

March 25, 1924 - December 29, 2016

Cuddy, Wayne D., age 92, on Thursday, December 29, 2016 of Overbrook, formerly of Whitehall. Beloved husband of 60 years to Doris S. (Seibel) Cuddy; son of the late Frank S. and Edna C. (Helman) Cuddy; brother of the late Dean F. Cuddy; brother-in-law of Donna and Ned Hornberger; beloved uncle of Mike (Debbie) Garner, Mark Wilk and Cheryl Wilk; great-uncle of Michael and Kim Garner; godfather of Denise Montagnese. Wayne served in the U.S. Army 86th Division Black Hawks in the European Theatre. He worked for U.S. Steel for 42 years until his retirement in 1983. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Monday, January 2, 2017 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Tuesday morning at 9:45. Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Apostle Parish, St. Norbert Church at 10:30 a.m.

    Norma & (Valentine) Gecan and their family would like to send their condolences to the family of Doris & Wayne. My parents were friends with them for many years. My father also worked for US Steel at Irvin Works. I remember as a young child going to their house visiting many times. My mother who is also 92, recently was talking about them, wondering what became of them. I guess they lost track of each other in their later years. So sorry for your loss.
