Obituary For Wayne E. Hizer

Age 86, on Saturday, March 8, 2025 of Baldwin.

Beloved husband of the late Claudia J. (Scott); loving father of Cara S. (Harold) Mittenzwey and the late Scott W. Hizer; proud "Pup" of Eric (Janine) Brickett, Kayleigh (John) Matus and Lillian Hizer; "Super Pup" of Avelynn, Ansley, Waylon, Hadley, Claudia, Laira and Rhett; brother-in-law of Karen (David) Conrad and Denese (Jim) Griffin. Also survived by his former son-in-law Mark (Michelle) Brickett and numerous cousins. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Rd., Brentwood 15227, Monday, March 10, 2025 from 4 - 8 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. If desired, family suggests contributions to Zion Lutheran Church, 4301 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236.

    So many memories with Wayne at Edinboro . Golfing with Wayne and Mark at the public coarse , Wayne hooked a drive into the back of a stake body truck traveling west on Route 6 , the golf ball bounced back onto the fairway further than he typically would have hit , Wayne looks at mark and I and says I really got into that one . He always had such a positive attitude about the lake effect weather that could blow in from Erie !
