Age 76, of Bethel Park, passed away peacefully at home and surrounded by family on Monday, February 16, 2026.

Beloved husband of 50 years to Jan (Munson) Bassett; loving father of Jennifer (Matt) Abel, Danielle (Brian) Hilgert and Kristen (Nick) Pantano; proud Pap Pap of Garrett and Madison Abel, Connor and Kyle Hilgert and Enzo, Nico, Layla Pantano; son of the late Frank and Helen Bassett. Wayne served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and worked for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette as a pressman for more than 45 years until his retirement. He was a proud Steelers' season ticket holder for over 50 years. Wayne will be deeply missed by all who knew him. There will be no public visitation or services. Arrangements handled by the John F.
