Age 71, of Brentwood, PA, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.
Beloved husband of 49 years to Constance (Hutchin) Kearns; loving father of Jennifer (Michael) Haberman and Julia (Ian) Lucci; proud Grandpap of Will, Nathan, Giavanna, Anthony; loving son of the late William and Gervase (Hegerle) Kearns; caring brother of Doreen (Glenn) Eisel, Tom Kearns and the late Leonard (Peg) Kearns and Michael (Sherri) Kearns. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Bill was an amazing man who could build or fix anything. He was musically gifted and played several instruments. He freely shared his gifts with others-always available to help fix a car, remodel a house, or build you a new computer. His greatest achievement was his family - he was the most amazing husband, father, and grandpap-and he will be so very missed by all of us who loved him.
Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Saturday morning at 9:00. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Hope Parish, St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church at 10:00 a.m.

Bill was my brother in-law for nearly 50 years, the most loving and wonderful husband to my sister, Connie, and a fabulous father to my beautiful nieces, Jen and Julie. But, as with most comments on someone's life, that says so very little. To Billy, Family. Was. EVERYthing. His caring for them was an almost tangible thing! He'd do anything to help them with even the smallest thing....and as a grandpap, he was the best! Any person could see the influence he's had on each of his cherished grandkids! My husband and I have never lived close to them, but through reunions, his words, witnessing the extreme talent he had to do nearly anything, through the happiness that radiated from his sweetheart (since high school!) and his loving daughters, and through the admiration he had from absolutely anyone who knew him, I feel as though WE knew him well. Never one to draw attention to himself, he gained the love, respect and esteem of others simply by being himself. My heart breaks for everyone who knew and loved him. Godspeed ...and rest in God's loving arms, Bill. You will be so missed. 💔🙏🏼

My "brother" Billy, was the head of our family after Dad died. Mick, although the elder, used to call himself "Fredo" (from the Godfather Movie) because he knew Billy was in charge" He was the take charge person, and Mick respected that. It was right! My Mick has his brother with him again, and I can say that it gives me, and you too, Con, much joy! We do not have them anymore in this life, but we will have them back in Eternal Life and for now, they are "brothers" again! I loved you always, Billy.
