William G. Picard, age 84, of Baldwin for 32 years, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, May 24, 2026. Beloved husband of 56 years to Cheryl Picard; loving father of Shelley (Ken) Reed, Lori (James) Buckreis and Amy (Kevin Cropp) Picard; proud Pappy-O of Matthew (Kelly) Reed, Marc Reed and Mackenzie (Tyler Smith) Reed; cherished great Pappy-O to Micah Reed; brother-in-law of Jonna (Dave) Reber; uncle of David (Kristen) Reber; great-uncle of Owen and Henry Reber. Bill began his career at O. Hommel Company where he met the love of his life, Cheryl. He went on to work for Ferro Corporations where he was an accomplished ceramic engineer. While at Ferro Corp., Bill was a key component in developing a patent. However, his greatest accomplishment was coaching his three daughters to be the best softball players they could be. Bill learned to be masterful at never answering the question..."Which daughter was the best player?". He will be deeply missed by all who loved him. There will be no visitation or services. Arrangements handled by the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227. The family suggests contributions to Gallagher Hospice, 1370 Washington Pike, Bridgeville, PA 15017 or gallagherhospice.com. Contact Us to have your link and message added here.
