Age 81, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, of Whitehall.

Husband of the late Jean (Possinger) Spottiswood; father of Lisa Haggerty and Michael Spottiswood; grandfather of Justin (Patricia), Stephanie (Bryan), Andrew, Zachary, Ian, Evan (Keira) and Riley; great-grandfather of Jonah, Louis, Griffin and Nash; son of the late James and Frances (Monaghan) Spottiswood; brother of Robert (Dorothy) Spottiswood and the late Jack (Carole) and James (Kaye) Spottiswood. Also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He retired after 41 years at Seton LaSalle High School where he taught U.S. Government Studies and where he also served as Head of the Social Studies Departments. He was a lifelong Cubs fan and loved his team. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Friday, October 16, 2026 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Time and place of Mass to be announced.
