July 31, 1917 - January 3, 2018

Lyons, William J., Sr. Age 100, on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, of Pleasant Hills.

Beloved husband of the late Hilda (Hoffmann) Lyons; father of William J. (Helen) Lyons, Jr., Peggy M. (Tom) Trout, Patricia A.(Ron) Pagels and James M. (the late Kathleen) Lyons; grandfather of Michael (Annmarie), David (Lisa) and Heidi (Jeff Jocsak) Lyons, Susan (Sam) Rymarowicz, Patti (Tonio) Napolitano, Krissy (Greg) Petrovich, Laura (Dave) Cardwell, Ryan (Tonya) Pagels, Amy (Mike) Veid, Geoffrey (Alexandra) and Molly Lyons; 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Mr. Lyons was a veteran of WWII and was past commander of VFW Post 1810. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Monday, January 8, 2018, from 2-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Tuesday morning at 9:45. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church at 10:30 a.m.

    Condolences from Millie Giel, Bill's neighbor at the Paramount, and her family. He was always on the move and quick with a greeting as he passed us in the hallways in his motorized wheelchair. What a remarkable life! You are all in our prayers.
