Obituary For William M. Luffey, Jr.

Age 73, passed at home, peacefully on Thursday, November 3, 2022, of Brentwood.

Beloved husband of 51 years to Elizabeth A. (Tavis); loving father of Jennifer Luffey Storms and William Luffey; father-in-law of Robert Storms and Erin Brown Luffey; proud Pap of Matt, Chris, Ava, Abby and Jack; cherished son of Hilda "Gabs" and the late William M., Sr.; brother of Janyce Luffey McNeely and her husband Michael; brother-in-law of Harry and Mary Ellen Krakovsky, Shelly and the late Joe Tavis, Bill and the late Catherine Hughes. Also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends. Bill was a coach and longtime member of the Brentwood Dukes, but was happiest spending time with family and friends. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Sunday, November 6, 2022 from 1-4 pm and 6-8 pm. Funeral Prayer on Monday morning at 9:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish at St. Sylvester Church at 10:30 am. Interment will be held privately and at a later date. If desired, family suggests contributions to charity of one's choice in Bill's name.

    I did not know Bill very long, but he made such an impression on me. You could just feel how kind of a man he was. He always had a smile and a good word when he came in to see his mom. I will miss him.

    Bill will be dearly missed by Don and myself. Bill was an all around nice guy he took care of his his dear wife family and was very attentive.to his mom also a wonderful brother and brother in law I don't think I have ever seen him without a smile on his face.
